This
collection displayed in the corridors, rooms and offices at Parliament
House, includes five specific collections:
Claude Hotchin Art Bequest, 1951
Presented
by Claude Hotchin Esq., O.B.E. (later Sir Claude) to commemorate the Golden
Jubilee of the Federation of the Australian States, 9 May 1951, and consisting
of nineteen pictures depicting historic buildings in the southern part
of the state.
Landscope Collection by Philippa Nikulinsky, 1997
A collection featuring original artworks used on
the cover of the Conservation and Land Management magazine ‘Landscope’.
Donated by the artist Philippa Nikulinsky and presented to Parliament
House by the Minister for the Arts Hon. Peter Foss MLC.
Legislative
Assembly Collection
A collection of artworks that belongs to the Legislative
Assembly.
Local
Government Art Gifts
Presented since 1964 by the various local authorities
throughout the state. Each picture showing some particular feature or
activity of the area from which it was presented.
Parliament
House Collection
A collection featuring original artworks that have
been presented, purchased or on loan to the Parliament of Western Australia.
Some well known artists are represented in the collection including Allon
Cook, Ailsa Small, William Boissevain, Ernest Buckmaster, Vlase Zanalis,
Frank Pash, Owen Garde, Portia Geach, Michael Challen, Leon Pericles and
Robert Juniper.
