Fortunately, the dining room was closed at that time and no-one was hurt. A structural report has revealed that the damage was confined to the western side of the ceiling where the original limestone cornice, ceiling and wooden picture rail fell onto the lower, modern-style suspended ceiling causing part of it to collapse. To avoid further risk of injury and damage the limestone cornice has been removed from all areas of the dining room which have a suspended ceiling. << Previous Page Next Page >>
