SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to address criminal law reform in the areas of:
  • Paedophile sex tours;
  • Acts or omissions causing bodily harm or danger;
  • Disclosure of official secrets by contractors;
  • Chapter IX - Unlawful assemblies and Breaches of the Peace;
  • Restrictions on publication of stalking proceedings;
  • Attempted infanticide;
  • Stealing of mussels and other species raised using aquaculture;
  • Property offences by spouses;
  • Presence of accused at trial;
  • Deletion of reference to "masters" and "servants" in The Criminal Code;
  • Procuring, inciting or encouraging a child to commit an indecent act; and
  • Offences concerning persons being found aemed or similar with intent to commit an offence.

This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent
