Synopsis
The purpose of this Bill is to remove inconsistencies relating to retirement age discrimination in the
Equal Opportunity Act 1984
. Amendments contained in the Bill are: including in the permanent exemption in section 66ZN of the Act additional judicial officers (the president, and members of the Industrial Relations Commission, the Solicitor-General and the Judge of the Liquor Licensing Court) and amending various State Acts listed in Schedule 1 of the Bill by removing reference to a retirement age for certain office holders and employees.
