Synopsis
The purpose of this Bill is to provide for the establishment and operation of a Corruption and Crime Commission, which will have the powers to investigate Western Australian Judges, Ministers, Members of Parliament, police officers and other public officers.

Notes
1. Bill divided into two Bills - Corruption and Crime Commission Bill 2003 [217-1] and Corruption and Crime Commission Amendment Bill 2003 [218-1].
2. Corruption and Crime Commission Bill 2003 [217-1] provides for the appointment of a Commissioner, a Parliamentary Inspector, the employment of staff and other purposes wholly related to the establishment of administrative and support services of those Officers and staff and to carry on the functions of the Police Royal Commission.
3. Corruption and Crime Commission Amendment Bill 2003 [218-1] provides for other amendments originally contained in the Corruption and Crime Commission Bill 2003 [LA 203-2B] that are not contained in the Corruption and Crime Commission Bill 2003 [217-1].
4. Bill [217-1] reflects the provisions contained in the Corruption and Crime Commission Act No. 48 of 2003.
5. Both Bills [217-1] and [218-1] stand referred to the Standing Committee on Legislation.
