Synopsis
This Bill is designed to give effect to the Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Constitution (1991). Currently the
Constitution Acts Amendment Act 1899
contains a number of sections on the disqualification of members. The committee recommended moving certain
Electoral Act
provisions into the Constitution, and moving the provisions for disqualification of members from the Constitution to the
Electoral Act 1907.
