Electricity Corporations Amendment Bill 2013

SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to amend the Electricity Corporations Act 2005 to implement the merger of the Electricity Retail Corporation (currently trading as Synergy) and the Electricity Generation Corporation (currently trading as Verve Energy). The Bill acts to discontinue the Electricity Retail Corporation and vest its assets, liabilities and rights in the Electricity Generation Corporation. The continuing Electricity Generation Corporation is then to be renamed the Electricity Generation and Retail Corporation.

Royal Assent given 18 Dec 2013 as Act No. 25 of 2013. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
