SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to enable monetary compensation to be available in the following 2 situations;

* to persons who have pursuant to a warrant of committment, served more time in prison than was legislatively authorised;

* to persons who have, under a work and development order, undertaken additional work which also was not authorised by the legislation.

Royal Assent given 14 May 2009 as Act No. 4 of 2009. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
