SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to introduce reform in the areas of -
  • mediation in the Supreme Court;
  • establishment and review of court fees in the higher courts;
  • judicial support staff in the higher courts;
  • appointment of Commissioners to the District Court;
  • the Liquor licensing Courts; and
  • the payment of judgement debts in the Local Court.

Royal Assent given 6 Jul 2000 as Act No. 27 of 2000. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
