Acts Amendment (Marine Reserves) Bill 1997

Synopsis
The purpose of this Bill is to amend the -
    • Conservation and Land Management Act 1984;
    • Mining Act 1978;
    • Petroleum Act 1967;
    • Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982;
    • Fish Resources Management Act 1994; and
    • Pearling Act 1990,
with a view to establishing a comprehensive framework for the enhancement, expansion and management of the State’s marine conservation reserve system. The Bill provides for the establishment of a Marine Parks and Reserves Authority and a Marine Parks and Reserves Scientific Advisory Committee.

Royal Assent given 10 Jun 1997 as Act No. 5 of 1997. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
