SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to amend The Criminal Code and repeal the Law Reform (Decriminalisation of Sodomy) Act 1989, and to amend other related acts, in order to provide for the reform of the law relating to same sex relationships, access to artificial fertilisation procedures and for related purposes.

Royal Assent given 17 Apr 2002 as Act No. 3 of 2002. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
