SynopsisThis Bill is the foundation of a legislative package that reforms the lower courts in Western Australia. The Bill is the vehicle to implement a range of Law Reform Commission recommendations and to set up a new court, the Magistrates Court of Western Australia, with the capacity to deal with both civil and criminal matters, and able to sit at various locations throughout the state.

Royal Assent given 12 Nov 2004 as Act No. 47 of 2004. This Act comes into operation on a day fixed by Proclamation (see Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
