Long Title |
The purpose of this Bill is to -
amend the Sentencing Act 1995; amend the Young Offenders Act 1994; and
provide for a sentencing matrix enabling a clear and consistent sentencing regime that the public will be able to understand. This Bill was created after the Sentencing Legislation Amendment and Repeal Bill 1998 [50-2] had its second reading agreed to and the House further agreed to divide that Bill into two Bills, thus enabling this part of the Bill to be referred to the Standing Committee on Legislation. |
