Position Title:Clerk of the Legislative Assembly
Level and Salary:$216,138 + 9.5% superannuation + fully maintained vehicle

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information:The Western Australian Legislative Assembly is seeking applications for the position of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly (“the Clerk”). The Clerk provides advice to the Speaker, Members of Parliament and parliamentary committees on parliamentary law, practice and procedure. The Clerk is also the Chief Executive Officer and Accountable Officer of the Legislative Assembly, responsible for ensuring effective operational performance and budgetary control for the department. This position will initially commence in an acting capacity in early October 2015.

The Clerk will have detailed knowledge and experience of parliamentary law, practice and procedures. The Clerk must also manage the Legislative Assembly efficiently and effectively. A full description of the position requirements is detailed in the Accountability Statement.

The successful applicant will be appointed by Commission of the Governor on the recommendation of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
