Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 32 asked in the Legislative Council on 13 February 2019 by Hon Diane Evers

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

FOREST PRODUCTS COMMISSION — KARRI AND MARRI INDUSTRIAL WOOD

32. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the Minister for Forestry:

I refer to the Forest Products Commission's tender RFT36/2018 for the sale of up to 435 000 tonnes of karri and marri industrial wood over 18 months.

(1) How many applications were received?

(2) Were any tenderers seeking to buy the marri?

(3) If yes to (2), in what quantity, for what purpose and, if possible, for what price?

(4) When will the selection process be finalised?

Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN replied:

I thank the member for the question. The Minister for Forestry has provided the following answer.

(1)–(3) Tender RFT36/2018 was a public tender process and closed on 6 February 2019. The Forest Products Commission is not in a position to respond because the evaluation process has not been completed.

(4) The FPC anticipates that the evaluation process should be finalised by around the middle of March 2019.
