Parliament Fountains will be lit purple from Sunday 27 October to Thursday 31 October to support International Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Diseases Awareness.
Mastocytosis is a well-established, rare condition and the first identified mast cell disease. Mast Cell Diseases includes both newer and emerging conditions like Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), its subtypes such as Monoclonal Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and genetic traits like Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia (HaT).
International Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Diseases Awareness Day is held annually on 20 October. The Australasian Mastocytosis Society (TAMS) provides support for mast cell disorder patients, physicians, families and caregivers.
