To the President and Members of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Western Australia in Parliament assembled. We the undersigned ...
say that Hall Park on the Western Foreshore of Mandurah is an A Class Reserve in the City of Mandurah that provides environmental, recreation, and social benefits to the local community. Hall Park was donated to the City of Mandurah in 1953 for recreation purposes.
We note the City of Mandurah Western Foreshore Commercial Site Business Plan in relation to Hall Park in which the City intends to enter into a major land transaction with the proposed disposal of part of the land within Hall Park by sublease.
We believe the park should remain free from commercial development, ensuring its continued enjoyment for future generations.
We therefore ask the Legislative Council to oppose the proposed land transaction and sublease by the City of Mandurah, and to call on the Government to do the same.
And your petitioners as in duty bound, will ever pray.
