To the President and Members of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Western Australia in Parliament assembled. We the undersigned ...
support the Cook Labor Government’s decision to build a new Women and Babies Hospital at the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct, and the expansion of maternity services in the northern suburbs, and note the Cook Labor Government will:
1. Build a new, world class, Women and Babies Hospital at the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct;
2. Significantly upgrade and expand maternity and neonatology services at Osborne Park Hospital; and
3. Improve quicker and safer access to specialist care for women and babies from the regions.
Co-locating the new Women and Babies Hospital at Fiona Stanley Hospital and expanding maternity and neonatal services at Osborne Park Hospital aligns with the fundamental principle of providing equitable and accessible healthcare to all Western Australians.
Fiona Stanley Hospital's proximity to Jandakot Airport facilitates swift access to the hospital for regional women and babies that require specialised care in an emergency via the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
We request that the Legislative Council urge the Premier and Health Minister of the WA Government to reaffirm their commitment to building the new Women and Babies Hospital in Murdoch, and expanding services at Osborne Park Hospital.
And your petitioners as in duty bound, will ever pray.
