The Parliament of Western Australia recently hosted Mr Tangata Vainerere, Clerk of the Parliament of the Cook Islands, as part of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s twinning program. The program provides the opportunity for Parliaments to enhance relations, exchange information and learn from each other. Mr Vainerere visited WA to learn about the operations and administration of the WA Parliament. As part of his visit, he sat at the Table of each House of the WA Parliament, and met with Hon Kate Doust, President of the Legislative Council; Hon Peter Watson, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, members of Parliament; Clerks; and other parliamentary staff.
