Hours of operation
Opening hours vary due to the parliamentary sitting calendar. On sitting days the house is open from 8:00 am until the last house rises. On non-sitting days the house is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The committee offices are open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Parliament and the committee offices are closed on weekends and public holidays.
Parliamentary Education Office
Parliament delivers a range of tours and educational programs, including public tours. The majority of tours are free.

Lighting of Parliament
Community groups may request coloured lighting of the Fountains façade to promote a community initiative or cause. The public will be advised of the lighting of Parliament and the cause it promotes via the Parliament’s website and social media channels.
To request the lighting of Parliament, please contact email@example.com, addressing the eligibility criteria, the requested dates for the lighting of the Parliamentary Fountains and the colour that best represents the cause.
Media enquiries in relation to the services of the Parliament should be directed to the Executive Manager Parliamentary Services, on (08) 9222 7222 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Parliament cannot respond to questions on political or party business or election policies.
News media representatives can be nominated by their employers to cover the proceedings of Parliament.
These representatives must apply for accreditation from the Presiding Officers. Accreditation lasts for one session of Parliament (generally four years).
