This artwork was created by Myra Lawson and presented to Parliament as a commissioned piece from the then newly created Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku. Both the artist and her family and the particular Ngaanyatjarraku songline depicted have particular significance to the Aboriginal people of the Shire.

Artist: Theresa Nowee 2007

Theresa Nowee has painted her father’s country, which is situated around Puntujalpa (Juniper Well) near the community of Kiwirrkura. The painting depicts the different features of the country including the tali (sandhills), spinifex and desert trees as well as pura (bush tomato) and kantjilyi (raisins). The central circle is the warniri (rock hole).
