Legislative Assembly chamber—Visitors
Statement
The Speaker (Mr Stephen Price) (2:00 pm): Member, I advise of a longstanding practice in the Legislative Assembly of visitors not being permitted on the floor of the house on sitting days. This is largely because members may have working papers and other items at their place in the chamber prior to sitting. Guests may not be taken onto the floor of the chamber within three hours of the commencement of sitting, including during meal breaks. However, it is permissible to take guests into the Speaker’s gallery during breaks in proceedings, but not beyond the Bar of the house. Your cooperation in this matter would be appreciated.
