Usher of the Black Rod—Lauren Wells—Appointment
Statement
The President (Hon Alanna Clohesy) (1:02 pm): Good afternoon, members. Members may have noticed a new voice announcing me in the chamber today. I am pleased to advise the appointment of Ms Lauren Wells as the new Usher of the Black Rod. Lauren brings extensive parliamentary experience accrued over more than a decade of service. This, coupled with strong corporate affairs acumen, gives her a professional versatility that is well suited to the role of Usher of the Black Rod. Lauren has a progressive mindset and strong continuous improvement focus and a deep appreciation of the historical traditions of the Legislative Council. I am confident her unique perspectives will be a welcome addition to the Department of the Legislative Council’s executive management team. I extend my congratulations to Lauren being the 20th Usher of the Black Rod in Western Australia.
