Banksia Hill Detention Centre—Secure facility

I refer to the new secure facility being built at Banksia Hill Detention Centre that was announced last year.
(1) Has construction commenced on the new facility and, if not, why not and when will it commence?
(2) When is it anticipated that the new facility will be completed?
(3) When will unit 18 close?

I thank the member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by the Minister for Corrective Services.
(1) Enabling works commenced in April.
(2) The new facility is being progressed as a priority.
(3) Unit 18 will close when there is a suitable alternative.
