Regional Road Safety Program

216. Hon Julie Freeman to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:

I refer to the Regional Road Safety Program (RRSP) and to a $20 million state government commitment through the Road Trauma Trust Account (RTTA) to expand the program to key local government roads.

(1) How much of the $20 million announced on 6 September 2024 has been spent to date?

(2) Which local government areas have seen upgrades to their local roads through the RRSP this financial year to date and at what cost?

(3) Which local government areas are scheduled to receive upgrades to their local roads through the RRSP in the 2025–26 financial year and at what estimated cost?

(4) What is the current balance of the RTTA?

Hon Samantha Rowe replied:

I thank Hon Julie Freeman for her very first question in this Parliament and provide the following answer on behalf of the Minister for Transport.

(1)–(4) Details of expenditure are contained within the state budget. The WA Labor government has made approximately 10,000 kilometres of regional roads safer through the Regional Road Safety Program.
