Hospitals—Emergency departments—Wait times

500. Hon Michelle Hofmann to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:

I refer to the wait times in all emergency departments in all WA public hospitals.

(1) For the month of July 2025, in emergency departments across the public hospital system, how many patients waited to see a doctor for more than:

(a) 48 hours;

(b) 24 hours; and

(c) 12 hours?

(2) Are wait times of 24 hours or more still reported to the Minister for Health?

(3) If no to (2), why not, and when was this reporting activity ceased?

Hon Pierre Yang replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I provide the following answer on behalf of the Minister for Health.

(1)–(3) It is not possible to answer this in the limited timeframe. I ask the member to please put this on notice.

Hon Nick Goiran: Are the reports provided or not? It is either a yes or no answer. Obviously, there was something provided today.

The President: Order!
