Health—Aged-care beds
571. Hon Michelle Hofmannto theminister representing the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors:
I refer to the government's 2025 election commitment that promised that the Department of Health would provide a $100 million low-interest loan facility designed to deliver an estimated 500 additional aged-care beds to ease the strain on WA hospitals.
(1) To date, how many low-interest loans has the Department of Health:
(a) approved; and
(b) rejected?
(2) How many low-interest loans are currently being assessed?
(3) How many additional aged-care beds have been delivered under this scheme?
Hon Jackie Jarvis replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors.
(1)–(3) The delivery of the low-interest loan election commitment is in the planning and development stage.
