Infrastructure Australia—Assessment framework
581. Hon Dr Brad Pettitt to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Infrastructure Australia webpage on Perth active transport improvements that states "Perth has one of the lowest rates of walking and cycling commuting trips in Australia" and that an "infrastructure audit estimated that congestion in Perth will cost $3.1 billion per annum in 2031."
It states that the WA Government is the "proponent" and that the next step is for the "proponent" to identify and analyse potential investment options.
(1) Has this second stage of Infrastructure Australia's assessment framework been completed by the WA Government?
(2) If yes to (1), what future projects are listed for funding and what is the timeframe for these projects?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
Hon Samantha Rowe replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I provide the following answer on behalf of the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(3) The stage 2 submission is in draft. Since coming to office in 2017, the WA Labor government has invested more than $600 million towards expanding the state's active transport network.
