Joanna Lamb—Artist-in-residence
Statement
The President (Hon Alanna Clohesy) (5:05 pm): I would like to welcome Joanna Lamb, the 2025 Parliament of Western Australia Edith Cowan University artist-in-residence, who is in my gallery today. The art residency is an initiative, now in its 10th year, that provides the opportunity for a Western Australian artist to examine aspects of Western Australian life, culture, history and politics within the institutional context of Parliament and to develop an artwork that draws upon this experience.
Joanna has been practising visual arts since 2005, with 27 solo exhibitions in Australia and abroad. Her work is held in significant collections including the Art Gallery of Western Australia, TarraWarra Museum of Art, and Parliament House Canberra. A finalist in numerous national prizes and named one of Art Collector's 50 most collectable artists, Joanna has completed major commissions for Black Swan State Theatre. I welcome Joanna to Parliament and we wish her all the very best with the program.
