Murujuga rock art—Removal
608. Hon Dr Brad Pettitt to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to the Ngaarda Media report of 28 April 2023 describing the removal of three pieces of rock art to make way for the Perdaman fertiliser plant on the Burrup Peninsula.
(1) What is the location to which the three pieces of rock art were removed?
(2) What is the current condition of the three pieces of rock art, and was a traditional custodian and/or qualified archaeologist present for the removal?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I provide this answer on behalf of the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs.
(1)–(2) The details in the Ngaarda Media article of 28 April 2023 are not specific enough to identify the pieces of rock art referred to in the report. Without knowledge of the three pieces of rock art, a location or comment as to their condition cannot be provided.
