Designated area migration agreements
631. Hon Dr Steve Thomasto theLeader of the House representing the Minister for Skills and TAFE:
I refer to my question without notice 557 of 19 August 2025 on the Western Australia Designated Area Migration Agreement and the four regional Western Australian DAMAs.
From 30 June 2024 to 30 June 2025, how many of the 192 employers endorsed to establish labour agreements under the Western Australian DAMA, and also how many of the 1,326 positions created by them, are located in the geographic locale of:
(1) the Goldfields DAMA;
(2) the Pilbara DAMA;
(3) the Kimberley DAMA; and
(4) the South West DAMA?
Hon Stephen Dawson replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(4) The occupations for these positions are those that fall under the WA DAMA. These do not duplicate the occupations covered by the relevant regional DAMAs, which are negotiated directly between the federal government and designated area representatives.
The figures requested are provided in tabular form. I seek leave for the answer to be incorporated into Hansard.
Leave granted for the following material to be incorporated.
