Corrective services—Workers compensation claims
678. Hon Phil Twiss to the minister representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to WA corrective services officers.
(1) How many workers compensation claims have been lodged by staff employed in each Western Australian prison in the past five years, broken down by year and facility?
(2) Of these claims, how many are currently active, broken down by facility?
Hon Matthew Swinbourn replied:
I thank the member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by the Minister for Corrective Services. The answer is overwhelmingly in tabular form, so I seek leave to have it incorporated into Hansard.
Leave granted for the following material to be incorporated.

Please note the following points about data parameters relate to the above table:
The total number of claims allocated to each financial year denotes the financial year in which the injury occurred, rather than the date on which the claim was lodged.
The data represents claims for workers employed directly at the facility and does not include support staff that may be co-located e.g. health services, offender programs.
