Burswood Park motorplex—Environmental risk assessment
679. Hon Michelle Hofmann to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation's Water Quality Protection Note 100: Motor sport facilities near sensitive waters.
(1) Will the proposed Burswood motorsport development undergo a site-specific environmental risk assessment in accordance with these guidelines?
(2) Does the site meet the minimum buffer distances from sensitive water resources, wetlands and groundwater tables?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following answer on behalf of the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(2) The Perth entertainment and sporting precinct proposal will be referred to the Environmental Protection Authority in coming weeks. It should be noted that buffers for water bodies are not simply a function of distance.
