Long Title | The purpose of this Bill provides for the introduction of the Emergency Services Levy from 1st July 2003. The Bill involves amendments to the Fire and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia Act 1998, the Fire Brigades Act 1942 and consequential amendments to the Rates and Charges (Rebates and Deferments) Act 1992. All property owners throughout the State will be charged the new levy depending on the level of fire and emergency services available to them. The funding will cover: the career and volunteer Fire and Rescue Service; local governments' volunteer Bush Fire Brigades; the State Emergency Service; FESA's new multi-service FESA units; its Emergency Management Services; and
its community safety programs. |
Status | Assented to 12/11/2002 Royal Assent given 11 Dec 2002 as Act No. 42 of 2002. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts) |
