Long Title |
The Bill, with the exception of s. 65 (4a) of the Police Act 1892, does not seek to replace other legislation but is to provide specific legislation to prohibit the importation, manufacture, sale, purchase and possession of certain weapons, to control the carriage and possession of certain weapons and to limit the carriage and possession of articles which are intended to be used to injure or disable a person. |

2. Sections 6,7 and 8 and item 2 of Schedule 1 come into operation on the day 6 months after the day fixed under subsection ( 1) which is the day as is fixed by proclamation. Proclaimed in full on 1 September 1999.
3. Referred to the Legislation Committee and is to report by 11 November 1998.
4. Committee-of-the-whole first reported on 23 March 1999. The Bill was recommitted to the committee-of-the-whole in the Legislative Assembly on 24 March 1999, to consider and agree to further amendments to clauses 8 and 9 proposed by the Attorney-General.
