SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to amend the Sentencing Act 1995 and the Sentence Administration Act 2003 to ensure that all adult offenders sentenced under the mandatory sentencing provisions of sections 297 and 318 of The Criminal Code will not be eligible for parole until they have served the full statutory mandatory minimum sentence, or the standard non-parole period, whichever is greater.
