| Long Title |
The purpose of this Bill is to deal with the amendments that can now be made to the Art Gallery Act 1959 and to the Museum Act 1969 as a result of the process began over a year ago to ensure that the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Western Australian Museum become service agencies of the new Ministry for Culture and the Arts. The Bill removes the Corporate Status of these statutory authorities and creates two statutory advisory bodies, the Art Gallery Advisory Board and the Museum Council. The Bill also re-establishes the Art Gallery Foundation and creates the Museum Science and Humanities Foundation. Finally, the Bill repeals the Perth Theatre Trust Act 1979 and the Library Board of Western Australia Act 1951. |
