Public Notaries Amendment Bill 1997

Long Title

The purpose of this Bill is to provide for the Legal Costs Committee, established in terms of The Legal Practitioners Act 1893, to determine costs charged by legal practitioners in all contentious and non-contentious businesses. This Bill also enables the Legal Costs Committee to determine maximum fees to be charged by public notaries.

Status

Assented to 12/10/1997
Royal Assent given 10 Dec 1997 as Act No. 46 of 1997. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
