Bush Fires Amendment Bill 2016

Long Title The purpose of this bill is to amend the Bush Fires Act 1954 to provide that the FES Commissioner may publish standards regarding bushfire risk treatments that an owner or occupier of land may comply with if they wish to do so. An owner or occupier of land may carry out out bush fire risk treatments on their land, despite any other written law, if they conform with the published standards.
Status Assented to
Royal Assent given 21 Sep 2016 as Act No. 27 of 2016. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
