The purpose of this Bill is to ratify the Iron and Steel (Mid West) Agreement, dated 12 March 1997, between the State of Western Australia, An Feng (Australia) Pty Ltd and Kingstream Resources NL relating to the establishment and operation of mines, plant and ancillary facilities in the Mid West region of Western Australia to mine and process iron ore into steel and other value added products, and to the investigation of the feasibility of establishing a port and associated industrial estate at Oakajee. |
