The purpose of this Bill is to - Ratify and authorise the implementation of an agreement between the State and the Gorgon Joint Venturers for a gas processing and infrastructure project; minimise environmental disturbance on Barrow island; and provide for the support of conservation programs in similar bioregions. With the approval of the appropriate Ministers, allow the grant of titles, totalling no more than 300 hectares of uncleared land for gas processing project purposes on Barrow island, over the class A nature reserve (No 11648) which covers the land; and
Allow the underground injection and disposal of carbon dioxide on Barrow Island. |
