SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is: to provide for the treatment, care, support and protection of people who have a mental illness; and to provide for the protection of the rights of people who have a mental illness; and to provide for the recognition of the role of carers and families in providing care and support to people who have a mental illness, and for related purposes.
Status Assented to
Royal Assent given 3 Nov 2014 as Act No. 24 of 2014. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
