Juries Amendment Bill 2003
Bill No.
161
Long Title
The principle purpose of this Bill is to protect the security of jurors and, thereby the integrity of the jury system. This means introducing two major reform initiatives - 1. Provide for jury anonymity by identifying jurors by a court designated number rather than by name. 2. Change the method by which reserve jurors participate in the jury process by removing the distinction between jurors and reserve jurors so that all participate fully during the course of the trial.
Status
Assented to 05/16/2003
