| Long Title | The purpose of this Bill is to -
continue the Family Court of Western Australia; introduce new concepts relating to parental responsibility for ex nuptial children, like those already introduced by the Commonwealth for nuptial children; establish a new operational philosophy for the work of the Court when dealing with ex nuptial children, reflected in a stronger emphasis on dispute resolution — again, like that established by the Family Court of Australia; repeal section 35 of the Family Court Act 1975 which gives the mother of an ex nuptial child sole guardianship and custody rights to the exclusion of the father until the Court makes an order to the contrary. |
