SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to amend the State's upstream petroleum legislation which regulates the exploration for and production of the State's petroleum resources as well as the transport of petroleum by way of pipelines. These amendments will also affect the rules and principles applying to geothermal titles in the onshore legislation. The Acts proposed to be amended are the: Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967; Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982; and Petroleum Pipelines Act 1969, and other Acts to reflect relevant legislation of the Parrliament of the Commonwealth and for other purposes.
