| Long Title |
The purpose of this Bill is to establish an office of Commissioner for Children and Young People as an office outside the public service. The Bill invests the Commissioner with certain functions and powers, including to advocate for the well-being of children and young people, and to conduct special inquiries in particular circumstances. The Commissioner will not have the role of investigating particular complaints but will be able to refer those to appropriate investigative agencies. |
