The purpose of this Bill is to abolish preliminary hearings through amendments to the Justices Act 1902 and the Criminal Code. In addition, the Bill seeks to reform the law as it relates to pre-trial disclosure by introducing an onerous, ongoing statutory disclosure requirement for the Police, DPP, and limited formal pre-trial disclosure requirements for defendents. |
