Long Title | The Bill makes amendments to the Consumer Credit (Western Australia) Act 1996. The amendments will enable Western Australia to adopt the national Uniform Consumer Credit Code, as in force from time to time in Queensland under the Appendix of the Consumer Credit (Queensland) Act 1994. The Consumer Credit Code provides protection for all users of consumer credit. Financial Institutions and credit providers who provide credit for personal, domestic or household purposes are required to comply with the Code. |
Status | Assented to 06/30/2003 Royal Assent given 30 Jun 2003 as Act No. 43 of 2003. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts) |
