Long Title The purpose of this Bill is to replace the record keeping aspects of the Library Board of Western Australia Act 1951 and provide for the establishment of an independent State Records Commission, which will strengthen public sector accountability through effective record keeping, provide a standard-setting and monitoring function reportable directly to the Parliament and take account of technological and administrative trends in record keeping.
Status Assented to
Royal Assent given 28 Nov 2000 as Act No. 52 of 2000. Different sections of this Act come into operation on Royal Assent and Proclamation. For details refer to Commencement Clause of the Bill (see also Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
