Synopsis
The purpose of this bill is to amend - The Criminal Code; and the Sentencing Act 1995; and the Sentence Administration Act 2003; and the Bail Act 1982; and the Restraining Orders Act 1997; and the Police Act 1892; and the Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008; and the Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004; and the Evidence Act 1906. The bill introduces two new criminal offences: a specific offence for suffocation and strangulation and an offence of persistent family violence.
